About Our Lake

Shamineau Lake Fish

Lake Shamineau is one of several lakes that make up the Lincoln Lakes Area. Shamineau is the second largest lake in the area with a total of 1,626 acres. It is a spring fed lake with no inlets or outlets and the water clarity is very high.

The swimming area is sandy and has a very gradual slope. On a sun filled day you will see floaty's in all shapes and sizes, but you better watch out for the big splash as the kids jump off the end of the dock! The locals are very fond of the secret beach located on a sand bar along the north shore of the lake. On a hot summer day the boats are lined up and the air is filled with laughter and the sound of splashing water. Everyone is welcome at Shamineau's secret beach.

Lake Shamineau

Whether you enjoy a leisurely paddle in one of the paddle boats, skimming the water in the canoe or enjoying the lake on your own boat, many a fishing tale are told about the "big one" that got away or was seen swimming under the surface of the clear water.

Fishing tales as told by the kids can rival any fishing tale told by dad, mom or other adults. A little girl caught a big northern fishing off the dock by Cabin 6. A very large bass was reeled in off Cabin 7's dock. A huge muskie came up out of the depths of the lake and clamped down on the itty bitty sunfish hooked on the Sponge Bob fishing pole! Lyn and Pam have snapped some pretty awesome pictures of happy smiles and fish over the years.

Try your skill at catching Walleye, Northern, Bass, Crappie, Sunfish and Muskie. Shamineau provides fishing action for young and old alike!
